PDFtk - how to fix blurred text

PDFtk is a great little app for merging PDF files. Since I started using Windows 10 I found that when using PDFtk the text on the app was a little blurred and difficult to read. Here's a screen shot:

Do you see what I mean? It's ok, I can use it but it's not pleasant.

Solution
Click search (magnifying glass icon) next to Start

Type PDFtk

Right click on the PDFtk app in the Start menu

Click Open file location

On the PDFtk shortcut, right click, click Properties

Click Compatibility (see the screen shot below)

Click Change high DPI settings

Enable Override high DPI scaling behaviour

Set the scaling to Application

Click OK

When you next open PDFtk it'll look much better:

It makes a very noticeable difference!

Conclusion
I presume that the scaling technology changed with Windows 10 and some applications have not been updated to use it. But as you can see, using this compatibility setting it's possible to improve how the fonts appear.

This isn't only for PDFtk, you can also try this for other applications that have blurred text. You might need to experiment with the settings but you should be successful.

I hope this has helped :-)

Merge PDF files

Traditionally to merge to PDF files together you'd need to use Adobe Acrobat (not Reader). However, there are now many other options available and some are even free of charge. I found a very good one that's easy to use and fast. It's an online service but you do not have to sign in or give your e-mail address. Here it is:

PDF Merge

Update: January 2014
Here's another website that works really well too:
http://merge.smallpdf.com/   (thanks to Mathis Buchi for recommending this site)

In fact, try http://smallpdf.com/, there are a number of functions here such as compressing a PDF and creating a PDF from image files, etc.

Update: January 2015
PDFtk Free is a nice little Windows program that can merge PDF files, best if you don't want to upload your files to the web:
